Local Volunteer Opportunities

There are many opportunities for you to help with local environmental
organizations. In the list below, organizations marked # have special
projects for one or two students. An * means there are special
group projects. A ^ indicates a group looking for students to serve
on their Board of Directors. For information and to volunteer, call the

EL SEGUNDO: Dockweiler State Beach--Imperial
Hwy. & Vista del Mar, kid's cleanup at north side
entrance, south side entrance for general public.
GARDENA: Gardena Willows, call Sherry Roberts
at 310-538-2793. All participants are invited to
stay for a barbecue afterwards.
HERMOSA BEACH: Hermosa Beach pier
(metered parking)
LONG BEACH: LA River, 25th Way at Willow; For
other locations call Donna at 562 570-1471 for
information.
PLAYA DEL REY: 303 Culver Blvd. for Ballona
Wetlands.
MANHATTAN BEACH: El Porto parking lot,
entrance on 45th St. (metered parking); South
side of pier (metered parking).
PV ESTATES: Malaga Cove
RANCHO PV: Abalone Cove
REDONDO BEACH: First St. tower, south of pier
TORRANCE: Beach - Miramar Park parking lot at
the end of the bike path;
SAN PEDRO: Cabrillo Marine Aquarium; Royal
Palms State Beach and White Point. Park on
Paseo del Mar near Western Avenue. Barbecue
for participants follows.
TORRANCE: Madrona Marsh.
WILMINGTON: Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park,
meet at boathouse on southwest margin of the
lake.
