The third largest park in Los Angeles, KMHRP shelters a greater diversity of life than can be found anywhere
else in the South Bay. Now you can help to improve the park's many habitats by joining in these monthly work
sessions. Your efforts will help lay the ground work for the nature center and education programs that will
soon be established in the park.
Volunteers are most welcome to join us on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
This Project is lead by Geffen Oren, Martin Byhower, and others. Restoration of this important wildlife
area offers a hands-on opportunity to learn about invasive species removal, planting and caring for native
plants and much more. Students and service groups can also earn community service credit. All ages
welcome, but those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Wear closed toed shoes and long pants. We will usually provide gloves, tools and refreshments, but best to
bring water, snack, sun/bug repellent and if possible work gloves. Click on the aerial image on the left for a
map and directions to the park; it will open in a new browser window.
